Empowering You Through Therapy
About Support 4 You Counselling

Are you struggling with life and feeling overwhelmed or do you just want someone to talk to. Whatever is going on for you, reaching out is the first step towards positive change. I know that reaching out can feel daunting, but I will be here with you every step of the way. I can provide you with a safe and empathetic space to explore your feelings and emotions. Whether you prefer in-person sessions, online counselling, or a refreshing walk-and-talk, I will tailor my approach to meet your individual needs.

As an integrative humanistic counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to best suit your individual needs. I combine elements of Gestalt therapy, which helps bring awareness to present experiences, with mindfulness techniques that encourage grounding and self-compassion. Additionally, I use inner child work to help heal past wounds and compassion-focused therapy to foster self-kindness, particularly for those struggling with shame or self-criticism.
Above all, my approach is client-centered. I believe that each person is unique, and it is important that we work together to find what resonates most with you. My goal is to listen carefully, to provide you with the encouragement and understanding that you deserve. Ensuring that you are supported, and empowered. Helping you to gain deeper insights into yourself, to heal and move forward at your own pace.

A bit about me

Hi, and thank you for considering me as a potential support on your journey towards healing. My name is Jo, and I am an integrative humanistic counsellor. I'm extremely passionate about helping people navigate through life’s challenges with compassion, empathy and understanding.
After years of hairdressing and having a family I decided it was time to do something that I had always wanted to do. So I started my journey towards becoming a counsellor. I first enrolled on a counselling level 3 diploma. Then went on to do a foundation degree in counselling and psychology, expanding my knowledge and experience even more. Since, I have had the privilege of supporting victims of crime and individuals who have experienced trauma. My experience has been grounded in trauma-informed practices, which ensures that I create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your emotions, experiences, and challenges at your own pace.

Having personally supported my lovely nan through her dementia journey and end-of-life care, I have developed a deep empathy for those also facing these complex and often heart-wrenching experiences. I believe emotional support can make a significant difference during such vulnerable times.

As well as working with trauma, grief and anxiety and any other issues that you may want to bring to counselling. I have an interest in working with parents of young children. Being a parent myself I can relate to some of the challenges that this may present. It can be isolating, its easy to loose yourself, find yourself running out of steam. You may feel endless guilt, even resentment. Whatever is going on for you, I can be there to support you, we can work together to enable healing and growth.

At the moment I only work doing individual counselling and am not yet working with children.
